There are uncertainties today as the National Executive Council of the Academic Staff Union of Universities today holds a press conference to announce its decision over the ongoing strike.
The strike is 196 days today.
The NEC meeting of the union, which held till late hours of Sunday was said to have considered various reports from the chapters where decisions had been taken by local branches on what the union should do.
An inside source told the NPO Reports that there those who suggested that the strike be called for a minimum of three months to allow the Federal Government to effect some decisions apparently hinted during the various meeting with ASUU officials.

A good number of the branches were said to have been disposed to this decision with the possibility that the strike might be suspended.
Some of the conditions to be attached to the suspension are to be made public according to the source.
The source added that a committee was set up to work and perfect the conditions after the meeting of the NEC on Sunday and ensure that everything is ready ahead of Monday (today) press conference.
